WOW! These firsties have grown so much (physically, mentally, and emotionally)! It’s as if they returned from Spring Break ready to be second graders! They are reading, writing, creating, solving problems, and interacting with one another about all of the things they are learning!
So….what were we up to this week?
Well, we had a visit from the Maple Grove Fire Department! Bethany and Shannon spent an afternoon with our firsties teaching them about fire safety and what it takes to be a firefighter.
And, then…
We began reading Fairy Tales!
And, as we prepare to write our very own Fairy Tales, we began our Fairy Tale story maps!
We practiced measuring while designing houses for the Three Little Pigs and measuring beans - like the ones from Jack and the Beanstalk!
And, finally, we finished our work in the Elm Creek Mini-Market.
It is closed for “the season” as we get ready for the Elm Creek Garden Center and Insect Habitat!
SPRING IS COMING!!!! AND, THESE FIRSTIES ARE GOING TO BE BUSY!
