Monday, February 6th

CHEW DAY
ANOTHER HUGE SUCCESS FOR OUR FIRSTIES!
PINEAPPLE MANGO SALSA (WITH CHIPS!)

Our CHEW began with a Chefs' Meeting. We reviewed the recipe and talked about the things we would "do".  PEEL; CUT; CHOP; MINCE; MEASURE; STIR; REFRIGERATE; AND EAT! We looked at our toolbox and identified what tools we would use for the "do". 
We looked at all of the ingredients to make sure we knew how to prepare each of them for the salsa. And then, we learned how to core a pineapple!  After that, it was toime to go to  work in our small groups.  Thanks to our adult helpers! 


And then our chefs got to work!
 











It was hard for us to put our salsa in the refrigerator for a few hours to let all of the flavors bend together.  But, it was worth it!



We know that our CHEW has been a success when all of the food is eaten or taken home to share (and, no bandaids!)
